BIDEN MUST TALK TO IRAN
By: Derek Varsalona
If President Biden can make one more move to secure his legacy he must do so now. Or else inflation nation is going to be his legacy. But President Biden can do better than that. He can normalize relations with Iran. Normalizing relations with Iran might just stop the war in Israel and Gaza. I would ask President Biden to move to reopen the Embassy in Iran.
As of right now, at least one American journalist is held hostage in Tehran. I fear for his life. The fact of the matter is that Iran is a terrorist state and so is Israel. The other point is that if we do not talk with Iran not only will the reporter die but the war between Iran and Israel will go on for a much longer time. In a civil society, we must talk with our advisories. I am sure that the State Department is in constant talks with Russia over Ukraine. Dealing with Iran should be no different. In life, you have to talk to people you do not like. I get it America does not like Iran. But turning the cold shoulder to Iran is going to get people killed in the long run if not now.
I fear for the Iranian-American broadcaster's life. In this case, President Biden and the CIA must negotiate at truce to the Israel-Iran conflict and save this American life. Iran also threatens to attack Israel again. Yesterday, marked the 45th anniversary of the hostage takeover of the American embassy in Iran which is now shut due to that situation.
The fact is 45 years is too long to stop talking with someone either close to you or in international relations. For the hostage's sake, America must negotiate with Iran and reopen an Embassy in Tehran. As always comments accepted.
American should open an Embassy in Tehran
