DOES GOVERNMENT REALLY CARE ABOUT PEOPLES WEIGHT?
By: Derek Varsalona
Does the government really care about people's weight? Face it America we have a weight problem. I know it is hard. It is hard when you have a McDonalds on every Corner, and right next to it about 2 miles down the road is a Burger King. The fact of the matter is that America does have a weight problem. Now, President Biden wants to fix that.
It is not the government's responsibility to fix my weight. Thanks but no thanks. That is between me, my family members, my doctor, and the scale, of the dreaded scale. The fact is I have been doing good with my weight by constantly working out, three miles a day in the pool, going to the gym, and eating right. The less I weigh the less I need to eat. I went from 220 to 197 in a few short months. I didn't need the government to tell me I needed to lose weight. I needed my doctor.
I am on Medicare since I won my disability case. I do not need the government telling me what type of supplements to take or checking in on me and my weight loss goals. That is between me and my Doctor, not between me and President Joe Biden or incoming President Donald Trump (who could lose weight).
I think it is great to expand coverage of anti-obesity medications. But really what is the government trying to do. They are trying to get Americans addicted to medications so the government can make a higher return in profit and/or Big Pharma can make more money in the long run so the politicians can get bigger campaign checks.
Yes, I agree, Obesity is a chronic disease. The government is not in the business of trying to stop this. The government wants more people to be sick. The more sick people there are in America the more people need Obama Care. Yes, the government appears to try to help but like Elivs said they are the devil in disguise. The fact of the matter is the Democrats want people to be sick since they can show a need to expand the Affordable Care Act.
The drug companies want people to be sick. It is how they make a profit. They profit off your misery and misery loves company. Yes, Obesity is a disease. The fact of the matter is that the government does not really care. The government wants people to be sick. They want people on government health insurance the more sick people there are the more need for Obama Care. Also, it is easier to stay thin when a McDonald's and Burger King is on every corner. As always comments accepted.
