WORKERS OVER BILLIONAIRES IS DEMOCRACY IN ACTION
By: Derek Varsalona
I'll admit it. I do not support the workers over billionaires protest. I agree with their right to peacefully protest but I am a Libertarian who supports President Trump on most issues. In any case, if these people have a grip on President Trump, they have the right to protest... peacefully.
I am all in favor of a peaceful protest. It is democracy in action. But if these protests become deadly or riots start, the police have the right to declare marshall law and clamp down on the protestors. I do not support the right to use violence to support political means. What I mean by clamp down is the police have the right to re-establish the law and order in society without getting violent. That also goes for the protestors.
People have the right to peacefully protest under the Constitution. It is their First Amendment right to peacefully assemble and their right to freedom of speech. But notice a keyword there in the Constitution. The right to peacefully assemble. That does not mean you have the right to riot, destroy property, or assault anyone. As always , comments accepted.
