THE POLARIZATION WILL NOT END WITH THE DEATH OF CHARLIE KIRK
By: Derek Varsalona
Yes, I get it, Charlie Kirk was a divisive figure. President Trump is a divisive figure. President Obama was a divisive figure, a Communist and a racist who made black men worse off and hated white people. I am a decisive figure.
The fact of the matter is, the country is not going to heal from the Charlie Kirk Assassination. Now, we are having a debate over whether it was an assassination or a murder. This was an assassination of Charlie Kirk. The fact is that he was killed for his political views. I know that I can be killed for my political views, and I know that I am divisive.
People always tell me we need to tone down the political discourse that got to a boil. But it is the Liberals that ratchet it up. Why are people praising the assassination of Charlie Kirk? I indeed call this an assassination since that is what it was. It was a political hit job on a prominent Conservative talk show host and activist, a little less well-known than Rush Limbaugh.
People want politics to tone down. However, you can be fired for your comments on politics. Yes, you can get fired for public comments for or against the killing of Charlie Kirk. Sadly, it comes to this, and I assume that taking a position on the issue will cause you to lose friendships. I suspect that a prominent political figure on the left is going to get assassinated next, most likely former President Barack Obama.
People want to tone down the amount of rhetoric. That will never happen since people have the right to the freedom of speech, which includes hate speech. Think this is going to end with the assassination of Charlie Kirk it is not. It is just going to ratchet it up. Gloves off. Remember, don't bring a knife to a gun fight. As always, comments are accepted.
