TRUMP GOES AFTER OPPONENTS ILLEGALLY

I do not have a problem with going after opponents of your political beliefs. That is politics in a nutshell. But there is a wrong way and a right way to do that. The right way to do that is to have a fierce and vigorous debate on the issues. The wrong way to do that is to lock up people you disagree with for their political ideology.
President Trump is going about this the wrong way. President Trump has ordered his Justice Department and AG Pam Bondi to go after political opponents and Attorney General Letitia James of New York state. President Trump fumed when he learned there was little to no evidence that AG James had done anything wrong. The prosecutor for President Trump was later fired.
The fact is that in a Republic or Democracy, we love fierce debate. But that fierce debate needs to happen without fear of being taken in by authorities for your viewpoints that go against the ruling class. With the arrest of political opponents, President Trump is doing nothing different than what they do in dictatorships of third-world countries. As always, comments are accepted.
