PRESIDENT TRUMP TO DISMANTLE THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION

Well, this will get the Democrats in a tizzy. President Trump is taking on a Libertarian principle and dismantling the Department of Education. This is a move that I support as a Libertarian.
President Trump is right to dismantle the Department of Education. The Department of Education does not serve much purpose other than to offer student loans and administer the SAT and ACT. I do believe this function is better handled by the state than by the nation. The power of education should be turned over to the governors of each state instead of on the national level.
The local control of education is where education funding should lie, and it functions best functioning on the local level. The Department of Education does not serve a great function.
The education of America's youth should be left up to the states and not the national government. That is why I support, as a libertarian, the dismantling of the Department of Education. As always, comments are accepted.
