CLEAN ENERGY SHOULD BE LOCALLY CONTROLLED
By: Derek Varsalona
I think it is great that President Biden wants to do more for clean energy. Making us dependent on clean energy is a great way to go to make us less dependent on foreign energy. But President Biden is going about this the wrong way. President Biden should focus on a bottom-up approach to clean energy giving local control of the situation instead of individual government mandate.
President Biden traveled to Westby Wisconsin on Thursday to talk about his approach. But what President Biden is doing with clean energy is he is picking favorites in the marketplace with Green Energy trying to dictate the economy instead of letting the free market and consumers decide what is best for them. By picking favorites he is killing free market capitalism and is favoring a more socialist government control marketplace place which will not only kill jobs but also kill industry.
In the end, the best way for the government to work is with a laze fare approach to governing. That means hands off the economy. The economy works best when has fewer strings attached to it and less government control of the market. Government regulations only make things more complicated with red tape and government oversight can lead to corruption even if they have good intentions. The best way to go about this project is for the people to fund the projects with private investment. Also, what is good for Wisconsin might not be good for New York. So each state and each city should form their own method of providing clean energy to their consumers. As always comments accepted.
