NO ONE SHOULD BE FORCED TO SUBMIT TO REAL ID
By: Derek Varsalona
I can understand the security concern for wanting everyone to have the same ID in a country. Some conformity might lead to better security measures to stop terrorism. However, what is lost with real ID is individuality. The real ID makes people dehumanized and conforms everyone to make them out to be robots or puppets of the federal government.
I am against Real ID. The Real ID is a real loser in my book. I would think that any ID should work fine for getting into sporting events, on a plane, or any other form of travel. I like individuality and freedom. The problem with the Real ID is that it forces everyone to conform. The penalty for not having a real ID is that the federal government can deny you to travel.
The deadline to conform to Real ID government standards is May 7. This is forced compliance. What is lost here is the liberty for the person to make their own decisions on which ID they want to use. I agree that people should be able to use their ID and show ID to access most events or places. But forcing everyone to comply with a single ID is an invasion of Civil Liberties.
Look, this all started back in the COVID era. Forcing people to comply with getting the jab or denying them entry to most places. Now, the Covid hysteria is over the government is trying to force you to comply with standards.
What is lost here is that you are giving up your civil liberties to comply with government control and a sense of security. Are we robots or pegs in a cog?
I do not have a problem showing ID, even a real ID. I have a problem with the government asking everyone to show a confirmed sense of ID to get security. There is an old Libertarian lesson: when you give up your Liberty and Freedom for Safety, you have neither Liberty nor Safety nor Freedom. Oppose Real ID. As always, comments are accepted.
