TRUMP CUTS MEDICAID
By: Derek Varsalona
I applaud President Trump for cutting Medicaid this week. There will probably be a bill signing ceremony. As a person with a disability and as a Libertarian who supports President Trump, the Medicaid cuts are a good thing, and people need to learn to do more with less money coming in.
I believe the Medicaid cuts are going to bring down inflation somewhat, but I do not know. But the fact of the matter is that these big government programs are used by people like a drug addict uses heroin.
The House of Representatives passes the Medicaid Cuts to 625 billion dollars. I am in total support of this. ?The fact is that people need to do more with less. Yes, I have Cerebral Palsy, and these cuts directly affect me as I live on Medicaid. Some say I just signed my own death certificate. But the fact of the matter is that disabled people and people in general need to learn to do less with more and stop sucking off the tit of the government.
The vote was close, 215 -214. This is a really important issue. The fact is, America has a spending problem. The way you cure a drug addict is not by giving the drug addict more drugs. I should know I am addicted to a drug; my drug of choice is coffee.
Under these Medicaid cuts, there are new requirements. One of these requirements is a work requirement, which I support, it is very cruel. If I were in Congress, I would say that everyone must work or volunteer to receive Medicare or Medicaid. Yes, that even includes seniors and the disabled. They can take care of their grandkids and or do work for the community as a volunteer. But the fact of the matter is, we are not going to be giving handouts and entitlements away for free. As always, comments are accepted.
