DON'T NATIONALIZE ELECTIONS

President Trump finally has me worried. I might just might suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome, which is not a medical diagnosis according to Google. But federalizing elections worries me.
I know as a Libertarian it is hard to win any election: School Board (Which I would love to run for), Local, Federal, State, or even the Presidency. However, nationalizing elections is what typically occurs in a dictatorship. I hope that we are not going down that path just now or ever in America.
Under New York State Election Law, a political party must garner 50,000 votes in the Governor's election to garner a spot on the ballot for the next four years. That is very hard for third parties to do. Nationalizing the Elections would make it even harder.
The problem I have with President Trump over nationalizing the elections is that he is going to do what they do in China and other Communist Dictatorships. If President Trump gets his way and nationalizes the elections, he can block other parties from gaining ballot access. He could also end term limits for the Presidency, making him a dictator for life.
America should not nationalize the election process. Such a move would be unconstitutional as it violates the First Amendment to freedom of speech by voting for your preferred candidate. As always, comments are accepted.
