LET'S END THE SAVE AMERICA ACT

Hear me out, and don't get me wrong.  The Save America Act has some positive aspects.  Requiring people to show voter ID and proof of citizenship is a good thing in the bill.  Only legal residents of the United States should be able to vote.  What I am against is what this law could bring about.

I am afraid the Save America Voting Act will allow policing of the voting process.  I am afraid it will let the two major parties, Democrats and Republicans, keep other parties, such as myself, a Libertarian, off the ballot.  I would love to run for the school board under the Libertarian banner in Prince William County.  I am concerned that under the Save America Act, third-party candidates like myself would be denied ballot access.

Also, as a disabled American, I am afraid for my fellow disabled voters.  Will this prevent accessible voting booths from being on display, further disenfranchising disabled and other voters from accessing the voting booth?  Also, I feel that if someone needs to go into a voting booth with a handicapped voter, the handicapped voter's right to privacy and freedom of speech is violated.  First, on the right to privacy, if someone needs to go in and help me vote, that is a violation not only of my right to privacy but also of my right to freedom of speech.  It violates my freedom of speech because someone assisting other voters or me might coerce the disabled voter to vote the way the non disabled person wants them to vote.  As for me, the assistant might tell me I can't get a free lunch that the non disabled voter pays for.  I am always up for good food and good times.

The other problem with this law is that it tells people what IDS are valid and what IDS are not valid.  I am afraid a voter ID would be made up.  A student ID is already not allowed under this law, further violating not only someone's right to privacy but also their right to freedom of speech.  The Save America Act is bad for Democracy.  As always, comments are accepted.
