DANGEROUS COLD AND WEATHER IN AMERICA

It is times like these that I worry about the poor and the homeless in America. America is experiencing a cold snap that is dangerously subzero across the United States. The warmer climates are not out of the woods at all. Florida is expected to get tornadoes today and yesterday.
The Central Part of the United States is supposed to experience an arctic blast today. Mother nature is unleashing her furry and people have nowhere to escape. This is all a result of climate change. Climate change is literally killing us. In times like these, I am worried that homeless people are going to die in sub-zero temperatures. I have worked with the people who become homeless at Nassau County Department of Social Services. Some of the homeless people claimed that they would rather sleep on the streets, than sleep in a homeless shelter. Yes, it is unsafe in the shelter they tell me, especially for children. So they feel safer risking their lives out in the cold than they do in the homeless shelter.
The Northeast is being battered by snow. In my home state, Virginia it is relatively calm no snow. But I would not be surprised if we get a dumping sooner or later next week. The fact of the matter is the entire United States, no scratch that the entire world is affected by climate change. Yes, humans have something to do with it but we are not totally to blame.
The temperature is off the scale in the mid-region of America. There are minus figures in Montana and North Dakota. In Iowa and Minnesota, the departure is in the single digits. If you think the South is okay….think again. The entire south and Florida is in store for a tornado watch. I watched the news and it said tornado watch in Virginia and the DC region. I said, “Tornado really?” Everyone is affected by climate change. Yes, people have something to do with it. Climate change is literally killing us. As always comments accepted.
