NBA LEGEND BILL WALTON SUCCUMBS TO CANCER

Former NBA Legend, Bill Walton lost his battle with Cancer at the age of  71.

The NBA legend had a prolonged battle with cancer and lost his battle on Monday, May 27, 2024. He was a member of the two-time NCAA champions UCLA Bruins under the guidance of Hall of Fame Coach John Wooden. When he went to the NBA he also excelled at basketball.   

Bill Walton won the Most Valuable Player award during the 1977-78 NBA Season. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1993 and was a sports play-by-play announcer for NBA games.

Bill Walton was an analyst for the NBA in in 2002, where he worked in two different stints one with ESPN as an analyst and one with ABC as an analyst. 

During his career, Bill Walton scored 13.3 points per game with a grand total of 6,215 points in his career.  He was also a great rebounder with 10.5 rebounds per game totaling 4,923 rebounds.  He was a great shot blocker averaging 2.2 blocked shots per game totaling 1,034 in his career.  But Bill Walton was not a selfish player by a long shot. He ended his career totaling 1,590 assists over his career span.  As always comments accepted.
