NEWSOM’S ROUNDUP

Governor Gavin Newsom must like the movie Toy Story a lot.  He especially must be in favor of Woody’s Roundup.  That is exactly what Governor Gavin Newsom is doing, instead of Woody.  The California voters overwhelmingly passed a law that would round up homeless people and put them into health care and mental health facilities.  I agree, the homeless is a plight on the American streets.  It probably increases crime.  But rounding up the mentally ill and forcing them into treatment facilities is inhumane and will do nothing to solve the mental health crisis.  I used to volunteer at Nassau County Social Services in Uniondale, NY.  I worked with homeless people.  Most of them said that it is safer on the streets than it is in a homeless shelter.

The California people overwhelmingly voted for the government to use draconian measures to round up homeless people and force them into housing against their will.  So basically what the California voters did was legalize kidnapping.  How is rounding up a homeless person and forcing them into confinement going to help the person?  Putting the person in harm's way, so you can fill a need to feel safe only makes it less safe for the homeless person.  The homeless person's right to live freely where they want is more important than your need to feel safe and it offers a false sense of security.

This policy does nothing to address the need for mental health services that are greatly underfunded in America.  I agree in major cities we do have a crime problem.  But that crime problem is compounded by a greater mental health problem in this country that I think was prolonged by the Corona Virus Pandemic.  

With the Corona Virus Pandemic, we say the use of government force to lock down the people, strip their civil liberties, and force people into isolation.  Well, I can tell you by rounding up the homeless people and forcing them into housing and mental institutions it shows that the people of California and Governor Newsom learned nothing about governing during a pandemic.  As always comments accepted.

THE BIDEN DECEPTION IS UPON US

BIDEN’S SOCIALISM BAILS OUT MICROCHIPS

President Biden is not a free market capitalist now.  I think he was once before in the US Senate but now the Democratic establishment has gotten a hold of him.  President Biden wants to socialize the semi-chip industry.

President Biden, through the Department of Commerce, struck a deal with Intel to provide $8.5 billion in funding and another $11 billion in loans.  The federal government should not be in the business of making loans to private industries.  For that matter, making a loan to a private industry or individual is the work of the private banks.  If the government is involved in making a loan to a private corporation then I fear that the government can coerce the private industry to do the government's bidding.  That is not the job of the government or the bank.  Both entities are mutually exclusive of each other and should remain so.  With the bailing out of industries, President Biden is interfering with free market capitalism and indeed bringing about socialism by choosing the winners and losers in American society.

Semiconductors are a major part of the American economy.  It would be harmful for the government to take over that industry.  It seems like now of days the government ruins everything it touches.  Maybe that has always been the case. Semi-conductors are a major part of the American economy.  They power many things like electric vehicles, refrigerators, satellites, defense systems, and more.  The problem I feel with so much government control the government can spy on Americans with their electronic devices.  Just kidding.  Then again what Am I thinking maybe not?  The government already tracks the cell phone calls of government employees, the track internet usage of government employees and they probably would track private citizens if given the chance. Then again I shouldn’t give them any ideas.

In Chandler, Arizona, President Biden is giving government-backed fabs.  We all have used a fab at some point or another to check into the local gym, log into our office computer, log into the office door, etc.  Now, with the government in the electrical fob business, President Biden can keep a watchful eye on your every move.   I don’t know about you but I do not want President Biden spying on me, but he probably already does. 

President Joe Biden also claims to be the most pro-union President.  A word about unions from a personal perspective.  I was in a union.  Although I enjoyed having a job, I did not prefer to be in a union.  I prefer to negotiate my own pay and business work or contracts with my own boss.  I am a college-educated person with a disability.  I do not need anyone negotiating my contracts except for me, the employer, and my attorney.  I do not need a middleman, nor do I want one.   If you want to join a union you should be free to do so.  But no one should ever be forced to join a union, take a Covid Vaccine to keep a job, or be forced to do anything for that matter.   As always comments accepted.

BIDEN TO SOCIALIZE HOUSING MARKET

Under Biden, you get a house, I get a house, everyone gets a house.  President Biden must be working with Oprah Winfrey.  President Biden is set to socialize the housing market by making everyone get into a new home as soon as possible.  President Biden wants to lower the cost of the housing market.  That is a great goal but it should be done by the free market and exchanges of goods.  I hate to say it but not everyone can get a house.  Not everyone can afford a house.  In a capitalist society, not everyone is going to own a house.  But this is okay since President Biden is not dealing with capitalists in his ranks.  He is dealing with mostly socialists which is why President Biden wants to socialize the housing market.

President Biden is working to lower the cost of housing.  That is a noble goal.  But with the government ruining everything it touches with inflation the housing market is about to get inflated if the government sticks its hands in the pot.  The fact of the matter is that President Biden wants to destroy the free housing market.  I say let the free market decide the cost of housing by people making bids on housing.  The housing market is going to crash and lead to a double-dip recession if President Biden sticks his hands in the housing market.

With President Biden and his socialist ways, he is going to increase the cost of housing and decrease the supply of housing in America.  The only way that the housing prices are going to go down is if there is a decrease in buyers for the housing.  The government is only going to increase the housing prices targeting the very people that President Biden is trying to help the poor and disenfranchised in society.  Under President Biden’s policy, not many of the working class are going to be able to obtain the housing that they want. 

The American Rescue Plan is not working.   It is not going to bring down housing costs in Nevada.  One way, that housing prices are going to go down is if the supply of housing increases on the open market.  The other way is that Las Vegas is going to go into a depression and loss of jobs is going to lead people to move out of their housing increasing the supply and lowering the cost through free market capitalism and competition.

The government should not be investing in the housing market.  President Biden has invested $258 billion dollars in housing.  That is why the housing prices are so high since the retailers can afford to keep houses on the market since they were given a bailout by President Biden.  The Biden plan is going to backfire and not decrease the cost of housing.  The best way to decrease the cost of housing is let free market capitalism do its job and work to bring down the cost of housing with supply and demand economics.   As always comments accepted.

PRESIDENT BIDEN TO EXPAND WOMEN HEALTH

I applaud President Biden for making an effort to expand Women’s Health Care.  Just on a side note abortion is not health care it is murder.  But much of what President Biden is doing can also be done more efficiently at the local level and by private charity.

President Biden wants to improve the lives of all women across America.  But President Biden should take a more universal approach and try to improve the lives of all people in the process of also expanding women’s health care.  President Biden is spending 12 Billion dollars to expand women's health care.  But so much of this could be offset by letting private charities take up the cost to lower the tax burden on the taxpayer.

President Biden wants to expand the research in women’s health care.  I believe that there should be more research on Breast Cancer and other women’s issues.  However, the government should be in the business of providing grants to private organizations and not be in the business of doing research.  The government should be in the business of being the middleman and not the research component.  Also, there needs to be more money in finding cures for various diseases and the private industries should be in the business of funding a cure without government assistance.  Too much money is given to research and not enough is given to finding a cure for many diseases.  I do think that many diseases are curable but there is no motive to find a cure since there is more money in the research.  Also, when a cure is found it's a one-time payment deal and the research gives you more funding so the research at times seems to be a scam.

With the right research, many lives can be saved.  But when the research takes to long to develop a cure many lives are lost and the companies doing the research profit in the form of donations.  This research to find a cure often takes too long and many lives are lost because of it.  I feel that many diseases like certain cancers, AIDS, HIV, etc. can already be cured if more money was concentrated on finding a cure rather than funding the research.  All funding should be geared toward finding a cure for many diseases.   As always comments accepted.

VOLCANIC ERUPTION IN ICELAND

The fourth eruption since December of a volcano in Iceland occurred over the weekend.  Hundreds of people were evacuated from the Blue Lagoon area as a result.  Icelandic people are now building barriers to stop the flow of lava into the nearby town.  This is a danger to people in the area.

Hundreds of people are evacuated from the area as a volcanic eruption poses a danger to people in the area.  I believe this is a result of climate change.  The earth is getting warmer.  As of right now, we are on the fourth eruption since December.  What a horrible way to spend Hanukah and Christmas with volcanos erupting. 

The Icelandic people are left virtually helpless.  They are building defense barriers.  But my concern is with the major lava flow the lava is going to burn down those defense barriers in a matter of minutes.

I hate to bring out the hoax people but I dare say the climate change has something to do with this.  As the earth is becoming warmer, I believe that has something to do with the massive eruption of the volcano.  Climate change is not a hoax and possibly caused this eruption in the first place.  As always comments accepted.

THE 32 HOUR WORK WEEK MIGHT BE UNREALISTIC

I applaud Senator Bernie Sanders for being concerned about people's health.  The 32-hour workweek seems like a noble goal although it might be unrealistic.  The 32-hour week does come with health benefits.  Less pollution, less time on the road and travel with congestion meaning it is better for the environment.  Less health risk of less pressure of heart attack or stroke with less commute time to and from work.  But I do think such a noble effort is unrealistic.  The employer should be the one that sets the time of productivity, not the government.

Senator Bernie Sanders is proposing that the companies cut the time it takes to get the work done but preserve the full-time pay.  No company in their right mind is going to pay the same for less amount of productivity and output in shorter hours on a given day.  Paying people the same amount for fewer hours is not sufficient.  It does not make any business sense.  The better approach is to make every company set the number of hours that they seem fit to get the work done.  A doctor's office, fortune 500 company, and law firm have more hours that need to be filled than the regular office.  Most CEOS and lawyers work longer than 40 hours a week.  The fact of the matter is that the business depends on the number of hours needed in a day to fulfill the work needed.  You can not go with a one-size-fits-all approach which is what Senator Sanders is doing.

Surprisingly, this 32-hour work week has weight in the Senate.  Does that mean we are going to have part-time politicians also?  So, I guess Sleepy Joe Biden is going to work less hours?  Does President Biden get paid for his nap time or is that off the clock?  

This motion is also getting praise from Labor Advocates.  If I was in the Senate I would vote against this bill.  The proposed rule does not look into the effect of the size and scope of a business.  A CEO is going to have to work harder and longer than a day laborer.  A CEO is a 24-hour-a-day job, they are always working even on the golf course, with their cell phone in hand to deal with business and emergencies.  At times they often cut deals on the golf course also.  If you tell a CEO to work fewer hours then they can’t do their job.  

With the rise of AI, there is more assistance in the workplace.  But that means less output from the common worker.  I spoke to a person who works in AI and asked them if AI was going to replace them.  The man responded, “ I honestly, don’t know.”  The 32-hour workweek is going to displace a lot of workers.  AI is possibly going to take over other jobs and reduce work time.

This does have health effects.  Yes, less time working is going to get people more freedom.  But it might not reduce heart attacks.  It might increase stress with people thinking they need to get just as much work done in a shorter amount of time.  That will lead to stress, stroke, and heart attacks but I am not a doctor.   Also, having more output in fewer hours is going to lead to the health effects of heat, which could be detrimental to the body.  The key here is to pace yourself and people are going to have to both physically and mentally adapt which might harm health.

This policy sounds great on paper.  I applaud Senator Bernie Sanders for his effort and concern for workers' health and well-being.  But in a Capitalist system, it is unrealistic, then again the man is a socialist. I would vote for Nay for this in the Senate or House.  As always comments accepted.

PRESIDENT BIDEN TO BATTLE ISLAMOPHOBIA

BIDEN TO COMBAT ISLAMAPHOBIA

I applaud President Biden for trying to combat Islamophobia.   But there really is nothing President Biden can do about this.  Islamophobia is a freedom of speech issue.  You have the right in America to have racist thoughts.  You have the freedom of speech to speak racist thoughts and print racist thoughts.  You do not have the right to act out on those racist thoughts or injure or kill someone for your prejudice. 

President Biden used the wrong occasion to combat Islamophobia.  If he wanted to make an impact he should have brought up September 11, 2001.  That would resonate more than with the Al Noor Mosque and Linwood Islamic Center in New Zealand.  First, this was not even an American institution and he used a foreign land.  I think this shows that President Biden forgot about the importance of September 11, 2001, as an infamous day in America.  It shows disregard for the victims of September 11, 2001.  For an American President to not remember that event is atrocious.  

President Biden is right that Muslims face prosecution.  But he is wrong in why.  It is not because of their religion of Islam.  This is because many people of the Islamic Muslim faith are disproportionally involved in terrorism as Islamic fundamentalists.  Not all Muslims are fundamentalists.  But in recent years most of the crimes against Christians, Jews, and other religious sects come from Islamic fundamentalists.   It is wrong to hate anyone.  But I do believe that certain people if not all people use some sort of prejudice as a defense mechanism in society. It is part of human nature. 

President Bind is right to combat Islamophobia.  I applaud the efforts.  However, this should be used as a guide for the local governments rather than by the federal government. The federal government can set up the policy.  However, the local government should have the power to use the policy and enact it how they wish.  As always comments accepted.
